Making a Character a new can sometimes be a daunting process. The number of decisions presented may feel overwhelming, and you may not know where to start.
In this Game however it is easy to get started, and Making a Character is broken down into 4 simple steps: Identity, Ability Bonuses, Background, Themes and Starting Inventory. These Steps are covered briefly below and in greater detail on their respective Pages.
Information about your Character will be stored using Character Cards, which will be discussed on the next Page.
Step 1: Your Identity
- To create Identity, add the below to your Identity Card:
- Your Character’s Name, Titles and Pronouns.
- 3 Aspects
- A Motivation
- 3 Bonds, plus 1 additional Bond for each of the other Player Characters
- Description
- Backstory
Step 2: Ability Bonuses
- To choose your Ability Bonuses, add the below to your Abilities Card.
- Allocate a +3, +2, +1 and 0 Bonus between your Might, Dexterity, Charisma and Focus.
- Allocate a +3 to your Skill and Speed (If using the Optional Rule: Aging, modify these Bonuses accordingly.)
- Calculate your Skilled Bonuses.
- Calculate your Defense Bonuses.
- Calculate your Effect DCs.
Step 3: Background
- To create a Background, add the below to your Experiences Card
- 2 Skills
- 2 Language Groups, 2 Tool Skills, or 1 of each.
Step 4: Themes
- Choose 3 Themes for your Character.
- You may choose them individually, or by picking a Trope.
- You gain the benefits of the Entry Level Features of each Theme chosen
- Each Theme will grant you a Theme Card.
Step 5: Starting Inventory
- To choose you Starting Inventory, add the below to your Inventory Card
- Add 3 Supplies
- Add 1 Set of Tools for each set of Tools you are Skilled in.
- Add 1 Weapon for each Type of Weapons you are Skilled in. These must all be Weapons you are Skilled in. Additionally, add an Ammunition Holder for any Weapons chosen which have the Ammunition Property.
- Add a Shield if you are Skilled in Shields.
- Add 1 set of Armor of your choice
