Skills represent a group of commonly associated activities which your Character is experienced in and may have a particular talent for.
Some features may cause your Character to become “Skilled” in a given Skill.
When you perform a Skill Check using a Skill you are Skilled, you are able to add your Skill Bonus to that Check.
Skills
There are 8 Skills your Character may be Skilled in, each of which cover a broad range of interrelated tasks: Athletics, Creativity, Lore, Medicine, Social, Survival, Technology and Trickery.
Below each Skill is summarized.
Note that some activities may appear on multiple lists. Skills and the activities they may be used for are not mutually exclusive, and in many cases more than one Skill may be appropriate to a given task.
Athletics
Used when utilizing a Characters practice/experience in physical feats of strength, acrobatics and related activities.
Example Activities: Wrestling, Pushing, Jumping, Throwing, Lifting, Swimming, Climbing, Balancing, Juggling, Parkour, Tumbling, Dancing
Creativity
Used for understanding, crafting or performing a task requiring creative expression.
Example Activities: Painting, Dancing, Drawing, Crafting Art, Singing, Musical Instruments, Disguising, Acting, Mimicry, Forging, Dancing
Lore
Used when a Character needs to recall and understand facts and general knowledge about the world.
Example Activities: Recalling and understanding information about Geography, Genealogy, Politics, Military, Religion, Legends, Stories, Plants, Animals, Geology, Magic (Arcane, Creation, Natural or Supernatural), Mathematics, Science, Logic, Strategy, Languages
Medicine
Used to treat or understand injuries and other health conditions.
Example Activities: Surgery, Herbalism, Psychology, Understanding a Person’s emotional state, providing Therapy or Counselling, Diseases, Treating Wounds, Providing First Aid, Caring for the Sick
Social
Used when attempting to influence Characters through language or infer something from a Character’s communications
Example Activities: Persuading, Leading, Oration, Teaching, Flattery, Seduction, Intimidation, Discerning Truthful or False statements,
Survival
Used when a Character wishes to use experience associated with specific life skills, typically of a practical and hands on nature
Example Activities: Rope Tying, Tracking, Hunting, Gathering, Fire Building, Shelter Building, Cooking, Riding Mounts, Operating Vehicles, Cartography, Map Making, Navigation, Handling Animals, Walking, Hiking
Technology
Used when a Character wishes to understand, use or craft something requiring specific technical knowledge.
Example Activities: Alchemy, Lock Picking, Carpentry, Blacksmithing, Fletching, Mechanics, Siege Weapons, Detecting and Disarming Traps
Trickery
Used when a Character attempts to mislead others or notice when they are being deceived or tricked
Example Activities: Misdirection, Deception, Detecting Lies, Omission, Exaggeration and Hyperbole, Spinning the Truth, Searching for Hidden Objects, Hiding, Whispering, Secret Non-Verbal Communication, Pickpocketing, Sleight of Hand, Detecting and Disarming Traps
